The generation 4 and 5 games use a save chip that can slowly die over time. Once the chip dies you will see an error screen and the game will refuse to start.
This item is a replacement save chip for those games. The game can be repaired by replacing the save chip with one of these.
This save chip is no longer manufactured and there is a very limited supply remaining. I secured a large order through a community group buy with the hopes of making them available for the community for some time to come.
